merge field issue

Featured Replies

Something is wrong with the merge field operation in my application. I don't have a clue as to why they don't work. I have relationships set up correctly.... other basic fields using these relationships work...it is only the merge field operation that does not work.

This is a new occurance. existing merge fields that used to work ... now do not.

in browse they return a line that looks like the merge field in the format mode. except the time is added in the line.

I have tried to work and rework this to determine what if anything has changed. I copy an existing merge field that works correctly and paste it... the paste does not work.

I could use some suggestions here.

Thanks

I figured it out....

The name of the relationship is the issue. I had used a colen in the name....

ex <<Customer List: Customer Number::last name>> returned

" <<Customer List: Customer Number6:20:49 AMlast name>> "

However taking the colen out of the relationship name caused it to work properly. go figure.

ex <<Customer List Customer Number::last name>> returned

"the correct Information"

has it always been that way or am I having a brain fart?

perhaps I never tried using a colen in the relationship name before...

oh well problem solved...
