Problem with installing ODBC client driver

Hello,

A client comes to us for a solution on FileMaker. We downloaded

Filemaker pro 7 trial version. and are requested to update data to

FileMaker Pro 7 over ODBC.

We installed DataDirect 32-bit sequeLink 5.4, but ODBC administrator doesn't identify the driver. (we examined the list, and found all

drivers are microsoft branded.) We aslo tried to install the driver

following the windows standard installation(control pannel,

add/remove programs), and the problem persisted. The OS platform to

install FileMaker and ODBC driver is windows 2000 professional.

Please guide me, and thanks for any help!

FileMaker Version: 7

Platform: Windows 2000

You must have the latest Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC), at least version 2.6 installed.

I'm guessing you've solved this already, but as I just spent the last 90 min beating my head against this problem I figured I'd post the solution, and hopefully save someone else the trouble. Assuming you're running the correct MDAC version

When you run the setup.exe only install the driver (this is the default) do not select to install the other two DataDirect functions you can access both the help book and the data source apps from the program filesDataDirect sub-folders. If you just install the driver the Driver will show up in the ODBC Data Source Administrator's Driver list
