Displaying Related Data In Header ?

Featured Replies

I need help !!!

I have 2 tables in FM7, one is basically a demographic table and the other a calendar type layout. The calendar is in list view and has records containing portals that show data from the demogrpahics table. I would like to be able to show some data for the current found record in the demographics table at the very top of the calendar layout. Can this be done in the header ? I've tried setting up a special relationship for this and pasting the demographics key into the related field in the header. data comes across from the demographics table, but not the current record. Is there some way to make this work or do headers just not function this way : I also tried making the key field a global and placing it in the calendar records...no luck.

Try using a Leading Grand Summary part instead of a Header part.

A cool thing about FM7, is the ability to put editable fields on the header. Turns out you can put editable portals up there too!

If your portal is not working, there might be something wrong with your relationship or maybe the portal is overlapping other layout parts. The portal should behave exactly the same as if it were in the Body part (it treats fields in the Header like fields in the Body, for whatever record you are on).
