can FM be setup to print into a template, like Word or Crystal Reports? Or does it have a print template one can setup of its own?

Trying to fiqure out all that FM can do. Filemakers websites doesn't help me much. I just don't want the printed form to look like the way the data is collected.

Thanks

Hi SpencerMon,

You can have multiple layouts providing different 'views' of the same data, so you can present it in whatever form (visually and/or for printing) that you like.

You can also export the data a variety of combinations/configurations for viewing in another program such as Word or Excel.

There are a variety of other options, but hopefully the above will give you a few ideas to get started with.

Should I purchase FM Pro or Developer? Will both work with the Mobil ver soon to release?

Hi,

Which you should purcahse depends on what you want to do with them, but both will allow you to create a variety of views of your data and both will work with Mobile when it is released.

You can use ODBC to access "live" FM data from other applications, such as "Crystal Reports".

Good Luck.

Garry
