Multiple Files, One Container Field

Featured Replies

A quick question: does anybody know of a workaround/solution for records that have multiple associated files that can be stored in one container field without having to clutter a layout with a large number of containers. Currently, I seem only to be able to store one file per container field. It would be nice to be able to store multiple files in one container field. Any ideas?

Thanks!

One way would be to archive multiple files into one .zip or .sit file.

Another way would be to use a portal. Each container still only contains one file, but the field is in a related table. The layout associated with your main table could then contain the portal and you could scroll the portal to see all related files stored in the containers.

Hi Reed...

Thanks for the response and suggestions! I thought about archiving the files myself. But I decided that it wasn't exactly an optimal solution. Now the portal idea - that's good! I'll look into it and get back to you. Thanks again!
