June 5, 200421 yr Hello I am totally new to fileMaker. What is the difference between making database of several files and tables? Is there any limitation to any of them? This might be in the manual , But plz be generous.. running out of time.. Thank you very much~
June 5, 200421 yr Before FMP 7 files and table were usually the same. With 7 a file many contain many tables. Is this a limitation as to the number of files that can be served in a multi-user setup. Many of us are still exploring FMP 7 and don't know if there is an optimum arrangement between files and tables. Some are looking at a seperation model where data table are in one file, business logic in another and interface is in a third. I recommend that you read "Migration Foundations and Methodologies" available from the FMI web site.
