I'm sharing fm7 files on pc and on remote pc's I was hoping to create a shortcut to the main shared file rather than making them go through the whole "file>open>remote....process"?

I'd also like it to eventually open on startup.

What you're looking for is called an "Opener File." You can search the forums for that for more details, but essentially, an Opener File is a FMP database which resides on the remote machines, and which contains a script which runs when the file is opened. This script performs the File-->Open Remote... process, then closes itself. It should include error correction, and can be placed on the desktop and/or in the startup items folder.
