Need Help Making a PDF Archiving Database

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice pertaining to a PDF document storage database I'm trying to make.

I'd like to be able to write a script whereby a reference to a PDF file would be placed in a container so that it could be viewed in filemaker and then the user could double click the file or something and cause that same file to open in Adobe Acrobat.

Once I have that working, I want to add various text fields to tie this into my current customer service database so that I can scan all my paper invoices and contracts for each customer and relate them to the customers other records.

I would greatly appreciate any advice from anyone out there.
