Newbies ANNE WILKINSON Posted July 26, 2004 Newbies Posted July 26, 2004 Hi can anyone help? I am trying to export data from filemaker pro to a Windows XP machine, and can't find an ODBC driver to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction please Thanks Anne
yehonatan Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 On my Filemaker CD it is located at: D:xDBCODBC Client Driver Installer (where D is the cd-rom drive) I'm just trying to understand how to get this ODBC stuff to work too -(.
Newbies Blackadder Posted July 26, 2004 Newbies Posted July 26, 2004 Any pointers on how I can get that driver to appear in the ODBC Driver list after it is installed would be a bonus.
Newbies ANNE WILKINSON Posted July 27, 2004 Author Newbies Posted July 27, 2004 Thanks for this, unfortunately I don't have a Filemaker CD, I have downloaded an eval version from their website, and need the driver to link to other ODBC compliant software
yehonatan Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 Sorry... this won't be a direct answer to ur question, but it looks like the main documents to rely on for installing the odbc drivers are: http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fm7_odbc_jdbc_install.pdf http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fm7_odbc_jdbc_developer.pdf Inspite of being called "Filemaker 7 ODBC and JDBC Developer's Guide" it is also for Filemaker Pro 7 and Filemaker Server 7. The first guide is also helpful for Filemaker Pro 7. Also if the driver is installed correctly, then you can view more documentation by going Start->All Programs->DataDirect SequeLink for ODBC 5.4 And then clicking on "Driver Help". Hope this helps, I'm going through this documentation now.
yehonatan Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 I just ran into same problem... and I realize my previous post wasn't any help :. Anyways, I was able to see the "DataDirect 32-BIT SequeLink 5.4" driver after installing MDAC 2.80 (and this may have caused it to work just b/c it forces a reboot... which was also on my todo-list to try to fix the problem). To find this go to www.microsoft.com and search for "MDAC". Let me know how it goes.
