I have just begun using FM7 and it takes about 80 secs to startup. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix for this?

Could be that some services, like Instant Web Publishing, are trying to start and having some problems doing so. Double check that you have all the file sharing options turned off under preferences and see if that makes a difference. And of course other applications that are running in the background could be causing the slowdown as well.

All my sharing settings are set to OFF.

I had a similar problem on a laptop using XP. Whenever I was disconnected from my home network, FM was extremely slow starting up. I learned that if I disabled the network connections in the control panel, FM would work normally.
