I have need to display a shopping cart where the line item discriptons are from one to three lines long. When I place the items in a portal and leave room for three lines the spacing on the line items that are only one or two lines long have additional white space that i want to eliminate. I have not used FM since V4.0. I seem to remember placing html in a calculation field. Any ideas or hints on how to customize formatting would be greatly appreciated

If this is for a printout, you can use sliding if you generate the invoice from the line items file. This is usually the preferred way to print invoices because of the sliding (or non-sliding) issues with portals.

I'm new at this. A portal is the only way I have learned that shows the related records that form my line items.

Use the Go to Related Records (show, relationship) step to "find" all the related records, then perform a script in the related file that does the printing stuff.
