damo Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I have written a script in FM7 to print a job to the network printer. The printer has 3 trays, and the script should print one page from each tray. However the script seems to lose its settings after a short period and starts printing all 3 pages from just 1 tray. How can I write the script so that it does not lose its settings?
Computer Geek Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 Are you setting the script to print and then checking off the button for no dialog? If so, (and you are not going to like this) it is a known-issue. I found this after 6 hours of monkeying with it. As long as you don't check off the no dialog box, it remembers most of the settings. Once you check the no dialog box, everything is lost. Believe it or not, it is in the FM installation readme. A kind user on this forum pointed me there.
damo Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 I was checking the "No Dialogue" button. Very frustrating. Does anyone know of a possible work around for this? Im using WinXP
Deep Thought II Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 i am frustrated with FM's printing functions too =.=
Computer Geek Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Damo -- This is a very, very frustrating flaw. However, FM 7 is such an improvement over 6, I guess we have to allow them a few flaws. My work around is not to click the no dialog box. It keeps the basic settings but not the tray info and orientation. I trained the people that use it on what to do. Not the best work around, but it works. I have to believe that FM is going to fix this with the next updater.
damo Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 The guys I have using this are FAR from computer literate, but I guess they will have to learn. Thanks for the help everyone.
