Migrate a MySQL DB to Filemaker?

Hi!

Can you easily import the contents and structure of a MySQL database into FileMaker? Or, at the very least, the data from a MySQL database?

I have a MySQL database that I would like to have in FileMaker. Its not a huge database (ie, I could create the tables in FileMaker myself, import the data in csv format, recreate all the relations, etc), but it would be sweet if a more efficient or practical method existed.

What options are open to me? I'm new to FileMaker.

I'm looking to make the switch from MySQL to FileMaker, using FileMaker Server 7 Advanced and Lasso Pro 7.1, or possibly FX.php. Maybe I'm nuts, but I'd like to try. Our MySQL database is simply a repository of information about each of our association's 600 members. When exported from MySQL its a 2 MB .sql file.

Thanks very much to anyone with any ideas or suggestions.

Peter

You could use ODBC to import the data from MySQL, but if you're only doing it once, importing csv might be just as easy. Things like queries, forms, relationships, etc. will all have to be created in Filemaker and populated with the imported data. I don't know of a good way to automate this process.

Reed!

Its what I feared and expected. But its not so bad; the database is small, the relationships simple. Wait - were still talking about databases, right? Heh heh.

Thanks very much for the response!
