Trying to separate all data from their data...

Hi,

Big time Newbie here. I work in a lab and my boss want some way of knowing what work is coming down the line. So he volunteered me to build a job request db. Basically want the project eng. to login request a job and then be able to review there request later down the line. I think I can figure out how to review but the problem is that I can't figure out how to get the engineer to only see what is theirs? Is there any way based on Acocunt name I can have them view? Thanks.

Basically two ways of doing this:

- tightly script all navigation in your solution so you can present the user with just his data. The calculations for figuring out what to show then happen in your scripts (based on the account name). But this approach means that the users can not manually change layouts, do finds, etc

- use Privilege sets. You can add calculations to restrict record level access. Check out the help file for more info on this.
