ohucan2 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 This may alient professional developers; sorry if it does, but I have a fp5 file solution that was cheap to buy, but expensive to add users, so I am torn between continuing it or just starting over with something that will let me add additional users at no extra cost, save the additional fp7 software. I have a small business; every bit helps. My question, does a migration from 6 to 7 allow me to add seats to a single user file, or is this code buried somewhere that is not accessible, except to the original developer, regardless of the version.
Søren Dyhr Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 With websharing on 7 are you allowed 5 simultainious users, and with a bit of luck can the feature "Disconnect inactive accounts" be set very low say 5 minutes, be exployed. Where you on 5.0 only allowed 10 IP numbers within 24 hours. Further more can you now make scripts work almost to your heats desire if you're getting this plugin: http://www.fmforums.com/boards/showflat-Cat-0-Number-131892-Main-131892 Which is quite a step up in posibilities from 5.0's webcompanion --sd
Vaughan Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 If the developer has set the file to single user then that's it. There is more to making a multi-user file than just clicking a radio button: some processes and techniques don't work in multi-user, or become unreliable. Migrating from FMP 6 to FMP 7 is not a trivial process. The solution may well break.
