Is there any way to redefine a field that has been formatted as a button without removing the button formatting first? Seems like a lot of work (and chance for errors) to do something that should be simple and straightforward.

control-click on the field/button, and a menu pops up. One of the choices is "specify field" or something like that.

thank you; I've wasted so much time (and made unnecessary erros) deleting button definitions before redefining the underlying field.

And I should know better too; I know about and use 'control key/mouse click' in almost every other program. Can't understand why I didn't figure it out in Fielmaker.
