Forgive me if this question seems too silly, I'm a novice with Filemaker. I need two users to share access on our network to a filemaker database. We have Filemaker Pro 7. Can I simply place the Filemaker file on our File Server and have the two users open the file directly from their shared folder on the server? Or does the database file have to be hosted from a client machine running filemaker 7?

It needs to be hosted. Sharing the file using file sharing will get you a badly corrupted database.
