Newbies commcase Posted July 30, 2005 Newbies Posted July 30, 2005 I am posting graphics into a container field and also directly into a layout and they don't print out very well. Any suggestions?
stanley Posted July 30, 2005 Posted July 30, 2005 Commcase: Check the resolution of the image - make sure it is a decent resolution for printing, at least 200dpi, more like 300dpi. Also, make sure that FileMaker isn't resizing the image by checking the container field's settings (in your print layout) and having it set to "Crop" (rather than reduce or enlarge.) You may find that the image turns out to be very large (but a low resolution) in which case you'll have to resize it in an image editing application. Those two things will take care of the most common reasons for blurry printed images. For example, if the image is 600x600 pixels, you want it to be 2 inches by 2 inches (at 300dpi), rather than 6 inches by 6 inches (at 100dpi). -Stanley
