I know I can export sql to a database, but can I import and export sql in real time?

My company currently has a web-based database which stores data into a SQL DB.

What I want to do is propose a FM DB to the company with more functions and efficiency than what we currently have.

On top of that, I would like to keep the current database but make FM able to import/export data to the sql databse that way both the original and the FM database are usable and up to date.

Does anyone know if this is possible?
