What versions of PHP and Apache are recommended for use with FileMaker (say version 8)?

In particular, I'm likely to use the fx.php module and have not been able to find any specification?

I'm running Mac OS X.

Thanks.

Marek

I think most versions will be OK.

Garry

Please see other post http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/172824/pid/189529/post/last/m/1/#LAST with regards issues of related fields on any layouts used with FX.PHP and FMS8A

I see, on another forum, that people are having problems with PHP5.1.1 with IIS and FX. However, PHP4.x works fine.

Garry

Thanks for that input Gary,

We have avoided IIS and stuck with Apache2 on Windows which works fine.

FX has a number of tweaks to work with IIS

At the moment we use:

Apache - 2.0.54 (Win32)

PHP - 4.4.1

mod_perl/2.0.1 - Perl/v5.8.7

but may upgrade to PHP 5 - however with Gary's warning, we'll stick at 4.4.1 for a bit...

IIRC Apache is not supported by FileMaker Server Advanced on Windows, only IIS. Apache on OSX.

True ! But Apache is used with FX.PHP to publish PHP pages. IIS still take care of the WPE Console. Note that you have to setup Apache to listen and publish on an other port than 80 (8080 for example).
