Hello FileMackers,

I have a problem with storing specified printers in a "Print" script option's step (Specify Print Option & Perform Without Dialog) on MacOSX. FileMaker Inc. commented this problem only for Windows, but I think it is the same on the MacOSX too. Could somebody confirm me this issue, please?

- FileMaker Pro 7v3

- MacOSX 10.3.9 (MacOSX 10.4.2)

Hi Daniel,

There are some specific print issues in OS X, but it's not clear which one you're posting about. As far as I know, there are no problems with the "Specify Print Option" or "Perform Without Dialog." There are issues with getting it to use different printers for different things, and getting it to follow changes to OS X's default printer after the session has started.

Hi Ender,

Thank you for your note. In FileMaker we use faxing by Fax PageSender and that means swiching between printers. And this swiching is not properly in FileMaker Pro 7 on ours MacOSXs.

There are 2 possibilities to switch printers in FM7 (by Applescript or by new funcion in FM7 - Specify Print Option which should "store" the printer) and none of them is 100% functional.

PS: Applescript switches printers right, but FM7 "doesn't know" about that.

In FM8 are both possibilities right, but we need to be still on FM7 :(-/

The solution for this FM7's bug is here: http://www.fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/140842/post/140842/hl/+vartan/#140842
