How do I join the contents of 2 fields...?

Featured Replies

I need to put into a claculation field the contents of two other fields;

Field1: NUTS

Field2: BOLTS

CalcField:= NUTS BOLTS

At present, my calc field, which is obviously invalid, returns 0.

Many thanks!

Frank.

Hmm, unless I'm missing something, can't your calc be:

GetAsText (Field1) & " " & GetAsText (Field2)

set results to Text.

Many thanks! Exactly the code I needed!

Frank.

How does one do the same thing in version 6?

It would be the same.

Field1 & " " & Field2, with text result

If you want to convert thing like number fields to text, you can use NumToText ( number )... etc

Thanks.

Nope. The two fields in question contain text.

One is Event and the other is Place.

The resulting field should look like; Event/Place

You should use your real field names, it makes it less confusing.

I"m going to use the names you used in your post and see if that helps

Calculation =

Event & "/" & Place

Lee

Got it and it works :-)

Thanks!
