Newbies srwillett Posted March 25, 2007 Newbies Posted March 25, 2007 Does anyone know if I can take a FM 7 file and convert it backwards so FM 6.0 can open it? It is a simple file but does have sounds attached so the normal export formats don't work. Thanks for any suggestions.
Ender Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 No, you cannot convert a .fp7 file to .fp5. To transfer the data, you can export it to a compatible format, like Merge. But the schema, layouts, and scripts would need to be rebuilt.
Squeaky Data Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 Another problem you will have with exporting and converting to an older version is that the FileMaker format is the only one that supports container fields such as your sound files so these will need to be re-imported.
