June 17, 200817 yr Ok, so I did something really dumb. I was working on a launch script and I hit test before I double checked it, and now, it is closing the current window, and opening another but no layout is programmed so when I launch, it is basically going nowhere and I can't seem to abort the script fast enough, is there a way to force the database to open in layout view? What are my options? Yours... feeling silly...
June 17, 200817 yr I'm reading this that you have only One File. If there is multiple files, you might not need to use a new one here. Anyway, a file opened through a relationship should bypass your script. This recent thread might help explain it. Link HTH Lee Edited June 17, 200817 yr by Guest
June 17, 200817 yr If you have FMP Advanced, open the file with the script debugger open, then kill the script when it starts.
June 18, 200817 yr Hi Vaughan, Thank you, nice tip. I love it when I learn something new The OP doesn't show Advance, but maybe they have access to it, and just haven't updated their profile. In any event, others will have a new way to use the tool, thanks to you. Lee
June 23, 200817 yr Author Thanks to you all. I figured out that I could open another database, and while holding down the ctrl L key (forcing to layout mode), I managed to go up and open the suspect file and it jumped right over to layout mode. Again, thanks for the tips. s.
June 23, 200817 yr Hey there Lee and Vaughan! It helps to read the links referenced ... Mr. Vodka said to use script debugger ... Nah, I don't always read all of a referenced thread myself but I just had to tease y'all about it. y'all ... notice I'm picking up a southern accent? Edited June 23, 200817 yr by Guest
June 24, 200817 yr Yas, missus. Although it sounds more Swedish than southern, every woman can appreciate hearing THAT kind of comment every once in a while, with or without the accent!! L
