I have a database for my cabinetshop that uses different layouts for inputting dimensional information.

For example: If you are inputting overall width for a drawer bank you are looking a picture of the drawer bank on the drawer bank layout. while you do this. Similarly, if the width data is for a sink base you are looking at a layout that just shows the sink base.

The width information for all cabinets is posted a common master list layout. You can go there to see all of your cabinets in one place.

Sometimes cabinet information needs to change.

It would be handy to be able to see the original layout image again while making the changes.

The master list layout is updated via a posting script.

When you feel good about the cabinet you hit a button that uploads salient information to the master list layout.

[color:red]Is it possible to write a script that copies and pastes (to the master list) the name of the current cabinet layout from which the process starts?

Is it possible also to use a layout name in a GO TO RELATED RECORD script?

I would like to be able to select any record in the master list and find it's related layout but change layouts according to original layout name.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for any help,

Jarvis

I don't think so.

However, lately I've been setting up my GTRR script steps so that it goes to a "base" layout, then changes to the print or screen layout. I've done this so that the GTRR step will never break if I ever delete the print or screen layout.

So for your problem, after the GTRR step, change to the layout you rally want.
