June 7, 201015 yr Some years ago, before script triggering was integrated into FM, a great plugin had provided similar functionality, triggered from calculations. Here's the question: Do you think the plugin is obsolete now, or is it the fact that it is based on the update of calculations, could be considered as a measure to provide added security to field updating (initiated by such a trigger) done at a table level and not in the layout?
June 7, 201015 yr There is no security to field updating via a script - no matter how it's being triggered. If your data integrity depends upon a script running successfully, you should re-examine your approach.
June 7, 201015 yr Author Hmm...True, I think I get your point, however isn't it one step ahead safer? In terms of being updated regardless of the "proper" layout at least... When talking about security I meant from the data integrity point-of-view
June 7, 201015 yr isn't it one step ahead safer? I don't know. I think you are asking which is better: faulty brakes or no headlights.
