Susie Gahan Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I just got a new MacBook Pro which has OS X 10.8.2 and is running Java 7. I moved all of my applications from my old MacBook to this new one including the FMS11Admin Console. The FileMaker Server 11 software is on our Mac Server running OS X 10.6.8 and the FileMaker Server 11 version is 11.0.4.404. I can use the FMS11 Admin Console on the server just fine. However, when I try to start the Admin Console from my MacBook Pro I get the error " you need to download the Java Runtime Environment for Web Start applications". I downloaded Java 7 but this did not help. I read online that installing Java 7 was one resolution to this problem. What am I doing wrong? Is there something else I can try? Thanks for any help someone can give me. Susie
Steven H. Blackwell Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 The FileMaker Server 11.0v5 updater might be helpful here. Please see http://thefmkb.com/11058 for more information. You may be getting into a situation where your new machine has too recent an OS properly to work with the older Admin Console. Steven
