Can't open my database

I have a few locations that are connected and usually just open the database file and it works.  Today we started getting either the host is not available or the file is not available on that host.  We just switched from using an MPLS to site-to-site VPN.  I can perfectly see the server and everything but can't open my file.  Locally I can open it no problems so I figured it's something with the VPN but I have no idea what.

Did you do an "Open Remote" and select the server while connected to the VPN?  What happens then?
