Admin Console not working and other Woes.

Featured Replies

I just installed FMS13 on a windows 2008R2 server today. FMServer is hosted on a virtual server.  I have been using Filemaker for 15 years, and I have never had this much trouble getting server up and running. My first inclination is to uninstall and completely re-install. However, I can't get the admin console to close the databases.

I have to connect to the server via remote desktop connection.

I've tried to edit the deployment and create a backup  schedule, however, the dialog window is not displaying the entire screen.  It's possible the issues I'm having could be fixed if I could see the entire screen,

I have a couple of custom php websites that are not connecting any longer - I receive an error 802 - can't open file.

Any suggestions out there?

try and close the files from the command line:

fmsadmin close

if they close properly then get them out of there and do a reinstall.

You can also try to run a backup from the command line first, just to be on the safe side.

Is the 2008R2 at SP1?  I believe that's required.

If you did have FMS12 installed before then uninstall FMS13 and completely remove any left folders in the Program Files, then reboot and install FMS13

Thanks. I was using Internet Explorer. I switched to Google Chrome and voila, I can see everything.

I may go ahead and do as you suggested above, as I totally missed the step of removing all folders.
