December 6, 201312 yr I just installed FMS13 on a windows 2008R2 server today. FMServer is hosted on a virtual server. I have been using Filemaker for 15 years, and I have never had this much trouble getting server up and running. My first inclination is to uninstall and completely re-install. However, I can't get the admin console to close the databases. I have to connect to the server via remote desktop connection. I've tried to edit the deployment and create a backup schedule, however, the dialog window is not displaying the entire screen. It's possible the issues I'm having could be fixed if I could see the entire screen, I have a couple of custom php websites that are not connecting any longer - I receive an error 802 - can't open file. Any suggestions out there?
December 6, 201312 yr try and close the files from the command line: fmsadmin close if they close properly then get them out of there and do a reinstall. You can also try to run a backup from the command line first, just to be on the safe side. Is the 2008R2 at SP1? I believe that's required. If you did have FMS12 installed before then uninstall FMS13 and completely remove any left folders in the Program Files, then reboot and install FMS13
December 6, 201312 yr Author Thanks. I was using Internet Explorer. I switched to Google Chrome and voila, I can see everything. I may go ahead and do as you suggested above, as I totally missed the step of removing all folders.
