Windows Server 2012 and FileMaker 11

I am in a federal agency.  We are faced with purchasing a Windows 2012 server shortly that will within 9 months be running FM 13   but in the meantime  it will need to run FM 11  server.   What items to I need to be aware of for  FM 11.   From looking at older post there is a possibility that the admin consol may not work but can be reached from any PC using   http://yourserver:16000    Is this correct?   There will be no other apps other than fm server on this equipment and IIs will not be running on it as well.   Thanks in advance for help

The core question is whether FileMaker® Server 11 will even run on Windows Server 2012 at all. It is not among the OS listed for that version of FileMaker Server.  See http://thefmkb.com/7638.  You might give FMI Customer Service a call on this.

Steven is correct - this isn't a supported OS for this version of Filemaker Server.

However, I have run this configuration with no known problems.  The risk you take in doing this is that you'll get no support/help from Filemaker Inc.  If you do have to call them, that's the first thing they'll ask you - and as soon as they find out, they'll tell you 'sorry, charlie', and quickly end the conversation.
