January 16, 200124 yr Newbies I've had problems while using the web companion. Sometimes databases just close by themselves. I've experienced this on 2 different servers, and with filemaker 4.1 and now with filemaker 5 unlimited. The only thing I'm sure of is that it occurs when users are accessing the database via web companion. It happens when users have tried to search for a large amount of records, but its really hard to reproduce it. Any ideas? Will filemaker close a database to prevent an error, or if it runs out of resources? Any idea?

January 25, 200124 yr I had the same problem up til a few weeks ago. After the next time FMP5 quits go to the Access log file to see the last file requested. In my case I found it was one of my web pages. The page is for searching the FMP5 database and returns a large found set. I changed two things and I do not know which solved the problem. One, there are two search fields. One of the search fields is a related field. This really slows down searching. I changed the search field so it is not a related field. Two, one search field is a number field but I had mistakenly made it possible for a text value to be entered into this field on the web page.
