SuperContainer by 360 Works
Discussions on how to implement and deploy SuperContainer by 360Works.
SuperContainer is a Java web servlet which allows you to upload, view, and download images and files from a web server. In conjunction with the FileMaker Web Viewer feature, it is an effective replacement for container fields in solutions which require users to read and store files associated with records in FileMaker. When I call the function SCChooseFile(), I keep getting an error: "Java.lang.Error: Cannot call invokeAndWait from the event dispatcher thread" What does this mean? How do I fix it? This is happening in the SuperContainer Example file as well as in my own file. I'm running OS X 10.4.11; Filemaker 9; SC as independent server in Demo mode (buying it real soon); java 1.5.0_13 Is there a guide to the errors like this one? Thanks, Gary

When uploading files instead of putting ALL my eggs in one basket I found it easier for backup & archival purposes to store images in sub directories. During the upload part of the script I add into the path a Year/Month/Roll# subdirectories so that I can see when looking at the server all images that were imported in the 3rd month of 2008 This way I can burn a DVD once a month for each month of imports. the folder hierarchy looks like:

Greetings all, In my present solution, I have a regular text field set to trigger a script when data is added to said field—or actually when data is absent from the field. I would like my SuperContainer script to do likewise. How do I name my SuperContainer so that I can add it to my script. Please forgive me as this is a very rudimentary question I'm sure, and thanks for your assistance.

I am having trouble resizing the Supercontainer. is this something that is really set during upload? I have some existing urls which work great, but I want to make them bigger. The get(layoutobjectattribute) doesnt seem to work. -Kevin edit: what I really want to do is get a full page preview within filemaker. Is the displayed image a thumbnail version? how do I make it the full version?

after uploading, I noticed that file structure makes a new folder for each primary id. couldn't I change the uploaded file name to the primary id? I have a DB of scanned images that I'm storing on file server. running Supercontainer in 8020 mode... thanks! so far this is definitely an awesome add-on. -Kevin

I can't get the SCDelete( folderPath ) plug-in function to work when SuperContainer Server is running on a Mac file server. What should the path be anyway? Just the ID number of the file folder when the path is "Mac HD:Users:Shared:SuperContainer:Files:ID:", as the SuperContainer example shows? I can't find any documentation on this function in the example folder provided. While we're on the topic of deleting folders, I notice in the example file that when a Delete is done, only the file folder under "Files" is deleted. Is there also a way of deleting the "Thumbnail" folder that corresponds to that file also? Thanks in advance for any help.

I just downloaded and started playing around with SuperContainer. Is there a way to open and edit the files that SuperContainer holds directly, instead of having to download them and reupload them? Thanks, Gerhard

At one client, I have included SC to run as a service under Apache, but I cannot see the SC window to show the URL. I know it runs because trying to launch it with the Java applet, I get the following error message: Problem starting/stopping: Protocol handler tnitialization failed: java.net.BindExeption:Addres already in use: JVM_Bind:8080 Installation was on a Windows XP SP2 machine running as a local server. I can log in with full admin access. Is there a way to get the SC window in view? TIA Peter

Does anyone have any experience with setting up SuperContainer with the following configuration? FMS 9 running on its own box (OS 10.4) File Server running on its own box (OS 10.5) I want to store the files on the file server. Should I be running SuperContainer Server on that box or on the FM server box? If I need to run it on the file server, do I run it as a stand-alone or run it with Tomcat? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm under a tight deadline to get this done.
