Who changed the record?

I would like to have two fields which I have dubbed "Account" and "Date" and I would like to have the first identify the account responsible for the most recent change to the record and the second to identify the date (and possibly time) that the change was made.

I'll readily admit to be a "newbie" to FileMaker and will readily accept "you dummy, its right there in the help" kind of responses. But I've not been successful, at least so far, at incorporating the desired behavior.

Suggestions and such leading to a solution will be most appreated!

You can use the auto-enter options in the field definition to enter the creation or modification account name, name, date, time, or timestamp.

The auto-enter feature for the Creation and Modification settings works great, but I would like to extend the question to any way to create a running account of record modification...similar to an audit trail. Is there any way to do this...it does not have to be field specific, but that would be nice.

Thanks.

.... and it works just like I wanted it to! Many thanks. Somehow I didn't find that in the documentation.
