I am needing help creating the exact database I want to track customers and orders for a small business' phone orders. My specific questions:

- Can I add information to one record without making the change across the entire database? (as in adding orders to returning customers' record - but not changing anything in the other records?)

- Is there a way to add a "notes" field to store any relevant information for customers?

Thanks!

Something to add to your wish list might be some kind of caller ID function that recognizes who is calling and brings up their last record.

Start with a DATA ENTRY LAYOUT that contains a text field NOTES;

Augment this layout with another layout called CUSTOMER PHONE NUMBERS.

Make the second layout a columnar list type layout that contains just the fields NAME & PHONE NUMBER.

You can script the navigation between both layouts with a GO TO LAYOUT"X" button.

If you make this button transparent and lay it over the NAME field on the second layout you can click on a customers name to take you to the DATA ENTRY LAYOUT.
