Transposing Field Labels in Table View

Featured Replies

I need to have a TABLE VIEW type layout that puts field names in a column on the left and record values in a spreadsheet type grid on the right.

In microsoft excel this is accomplished by copying a row of values and doing a "PASTE SPECIAL" command that would transpose them from being distributed horizontally to being distributed vertically.

For example: The values in cells A1-B1-C1 would show up on the spreadsheet as A1-A2-A3.

Is there a way to format a layout like this in FM7?

Thanks.

This sounds like a horizontal portal, I think Ugo has an example showing a way to do that.

If you only need to do a limited number, you can fake it with multiple portals with different starting rows (new to FM7), see the provided file for an example that shows four records.

Shadow,

I remember glancing at the topic of horizontal portals sometime ago but at the time I was still struggling to come to grips with what a portal was.

I have done a search and have found an attachment by dkemme but could not get it to open in anything other than hieroglyphics.

I did a search for the one by Ugo and have not found it.

Might you have a link to this discussion?

Thanks,

Jarvis
