Locking Record

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

I would like to lock some records so that they can not be edited by user but only by admin. I have a invoice database and I would like to lock records as soon as they are printed, so that user cannot edit printed (sent) invoices and thus create a mess in bookkeeping department smile.gif

Any suggestions welcome!

This feature was introduced to FMP in 5.5. It is part of the privileges you assign a user. Look at Record Level Access. You will need an extra field which you set with the print script. Once the Invoice is printed the user is locked out of modifing that record. I have even locked out the owner in one database.

I have even locked out the owner in one database.

LOL grin.gif Sad but oh so true!

It was intentional.
