Is there a way I can disable hotkeys (ctrl-n)? I've searched but have not found anything yet.

If you're on the Mac, this is the answer:

In the Accounts and Privileges, Privilege Sets, change the Available menu commands to either Editing Only or Minimum (from All).

This blocks the normal command keys. It also blocks Control (Command) - F and J (Find and Show All), so you've got to give 'em buttons. It doesn't block the Cntl-1, 2, etc. for visible scripts.

It means you have to have Accounts, but you must if you want any kind of security or access limitations.
