I was just wondering if a Table can be duplicated in Filemaker 7 for Mac.

It would be so much easier to rename fields in a table than to create a new one. I just need to duplicate a file so I am trying to find out if it is feasible.

Thanks

Hi Stann,

You can certainly do this in v6, so I'm pretty sure you can do this in v7.

Create a blank layout, go to to the Layout you want to duplicate, select all, copy, change to your newly created blank layout and paste.

The fields, if not already created will be generic, i.e. blank boxes. Sometimes I create the fields ahead of time, sometimes they are created on the fly depending...

Short answer is, no, a table in a FileMaker 7 file cannot be duplicated, nor can it be imported from another file. But, from what I've read I believe you can do this with FMRobot from New Millenium.
