Newbies dungonmyshoe Posted August 5, 2004 Newbies Posted August 5, 2004 i am making a database in filmaker 7 but the people who are going to use it are using filemaker 6 and they dont want to upgrade to 7. so is there a way to make my filemaker 7 database work in filemaker 6?
SteveB Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 You'll need to export the data...V7 and anything earlier are incompatible. Use .Mer or CSV files. You can't go FM7 to FM6 or visa versa. Steve
andygaunt Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 To clarify, the answer is no. They will either have to upgrade or you will have to get hold of a copy of FileMaker version 6.x FileMaker 7 is not backwards compatible with previous versions of FileMaker. So I suggest you clarify the position before you get too deep into the build. HTH
