Some time ago, on fmforums, I saw an Amazon banner advertising Filemaker Pro 6.

(This banner is still here offering FM6, FM7, FM6 Upgrade....)

I clicked the link and found some offers of FM6 at prices from 30$ to 50$.

The offer said (and you can read it today too)

"Sealed CD with your unique key.Authentic Filemaker Product .NOT a Copy/OEM.Documentation and Manual included on CD. NO Retail Box"

I thought that the low price was due to the recent release of FM7 and I considered that Amazon is a serious company so I bought some copies of FMP6.

I received 10 CDs (they seem to be original CDs) each one in a single sealed white paper envelope. On each envelope there is a small label with an unique serial number.

I installed and registered online the software and everything was ok.

Hower today I read on FM Advisor that this software may be pirated. I went to the FileMaker site and on Legal->Piracy Information I found:

Authentic FileMaker software CDs that are sold by legitimate resellers are always packaged in FileMaker manufactured and branded packaging and should include the following (Click below to view images)

a FileMaker CD;

b FileMaker Manuals;

c Installation Card with License Keys and Proof of Purchase Coupons;

d Service Directory with Technical Support Access Number;

and

e FileMaker Resource Guide.

FileMaker Software offered for sale without legitimate FileMaker branded packaging and appropriate enclosures indicate that it is not genuine or legally licensed.

The prize is too good to be true -> pirated. No doubt.
