Creating a work schedule table

I am new to FileMaker and am helping our Scheduling Director with her student database that contains a record for each time a student works. Exapmple, John Smith works Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. John Smith would have three records, and an additional one containing personal data. How can I read each record and have all of them display onto one layout. I know that Table view shows all the records, but I need to do some parsing. I am trying to read the times and parse them into a time schedule grid. So if a student id working Monday at 4:00PM, an "X" would appear in the Monday column and in the 4:00PM row. I am a programmer and know how to do this in other languages but not with FileMaker.

Thanks for reading this long-winded post!
