Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place or not but here goes:

I've seen comments and didn't quite understand what's with all the "what platform are you on". The solutions I work with are such that I'm providing maintence on existing code. I've been working with filemaker since version 4 but didn't really understand it well and start doing some hacks till about version 5/6 and now have some users on version 7 with our solution.

So my question is this, what are some of the big differences in how scripting works between mac and windows. Is it mostly when it comes to modules (the applescript/windows scripting) or are there some differences with script maker between mac and windows.

I have noticed things like fonts look different and layout positions appear to be slightly different between mac and windows, Just trying to understand some of the more common things that work differently between mac and windows versions of filemaker.

Thanks guys!

A few things I've come upon:

With mac, you can automate things with Apple Script, while on the Windows side, you can automate things with VBScript. Perhaps why people are asking is because they know AppleScript but do not know VBscript.

Also, there are somethings that plug-ins can do that are platform specific.

The big one that gets me all the tiime is WINDOW behavior.

Maybe it is because I develop on the mac, but it seems that windowing is much more forgiving and natural on the Mac vs PC.

The bigest offender is, Toggle Window. This gives alot of window flashing on the PC but not Mac.
