I purchased FileMaker 7 so that it would work on my Mac and PC. I've been using it on the Mac and wanted to set it up on the PC for a contact manager on both system. It won't install on the PC.

Is this normal?

No. You should be able to install it on both machines. However, you can not share the solution on a LAN without a second password, but in Single User Mode, it should work.

FileMaker will not open if a copy of FileMaker with the same serial number is already open on a Network.

If FMP won't install at all, check the system requirements. Perhaps your PC falls short - I can't remember exactly what the requirements were for FMP7, but it won't work on every box, that's for sure.
