Unable to log into FM5 server

The company I work for is all Mac based and is running Filemaker Server 5. I just set up my new PC with filemaker 7. When I try to "Open Remote" to access the server, the "OPEN" button at the bottom is greyed out. I entered the IP address as a favorite, and it will not let me "OPEN" anything, it remains greyed. I know this supremely noob question must have an very simple answer, I have yet to find it. What do I need to do to be able to access the server/files? Thanks in advance.

These two versions of FileMaker are incompatible

Server 5 can not serve v7.

Thank you for the quick reply, of course that was the problem. Now on to version 6 problems...
