keeping track of changes

Featured Replies

Is there a way FM can keep a list of changes made to a record and when the changes were made? For instance, if I make a change to an address I would like to see a quick note (maybe in a table) saying Address change - date.

Thanks, MT

This typic comes up from time to time. Take a look at this recent thread Link

This is referred to as an AUDIT TRAIL.

There are many versions of this and some are extrmely comprehensive and sort of frightening to the uninitiated.

The ones i usually use are for medical records which have to be very complex, but for what you are looking for you could easily put together a caclulation that returns this info.

Look for Audit Trail and sort through them for a simple one that just shows the field and when/who modified it. The complicated ones will show what the data was and what it changed to... probably more than you really needed.

Another simple way is to use a calc that shows timestamp of last time the record was modified - really easy.

Hi Bruce,

Did you look at the link I posted?
