I've very new to filemaker so sorry for the basic question here. I am using filemaker pro 9, as a simple one PC database. I often export columns from the database for use in excel. I have a column where the majority of data is numerical, but some data isn't - for example, some entries are S24, instead of just 24. When I export this column, and open the text file in excel, it removes the letter.

What can I do to fix this?

Make that field a text field, NOT a number field.

Hmm, I was sure I'd done that already - obviously not though because it worked.
