Does anyone know when a new version FM will be out? Our company is planning to buy FM9 version, but since it's been out for a while maybe it would worth to wait for the next version.

Any one that knows the answer to that question, can not answer because they are under a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

If you buy a volume license you get "maintenance" which means you get the next version automatically sent to you for free when it is available. Jump right in.

Meh, just deal with what you got till what you got becomes less than what you ought to get. Aka, even when it's released, it will probably be crap until they release .01/.02/.03

Speculation is overrated, just leads to disappointment (sometimes unfounded).

Pity, my maintenance expires in Dec/Jan. Not that I wouldn't renew if I did get "X" on this maintenance contract - just seems a little short changed.

Whatever they release, hope its more stable than 9, especially the printing as its caused me no end of grief.....

Those who know can't even say that they know. Which makes it hard to even tell who knows. The only ones you know don't know are the ones who say they know.

Anything released within the maintenance year, yes. By the way, for $99, TechNet members get access to pre-release software (among other things).

It could be, but then again it could not. Sorry but I do not know the release date, and those that do know are not at liberty to say. Are you in touch with your local FileMaker Inside Sales Rep or Business Account Manager?

lol! There's no such people as FM sales rep in my "far far away" city. I might be one of the only DBA who works with FM in my city.

I've got no idea when its out, but I got an public email newsletter earlier this week from FileMaker which had an invitation to evaluating a pre-release version. The evaluation was solely for marketing purposes - i.e. not for bugs etc...I guess once the press get hold of a copy to evaluate, it shouldn't be too long before its released.

If you're a technet member it 'may' already be there? (I thought that was one of the advantages of technet)

How does one fine they Rep to let them know you exist? I've only dealt with FM sales people over the phone. I'd like a chance to talk to someone in person if they're in town.
