Hi,

I'm the recruiting coordinator for college football program. I have a file with high school coaches and their demographic data and I have a file with our current high school recruits. I would like to have all the coaches demographic data automatically show up when I type in the corresponding high school name in the high school recuiting file. How do I do this?

Hi,

I hope this is the correct forum for this topic. I'm the recruiting coordinator for UW-Stevens Point's Football program. I have a file with high school coaches and their demographic data and I have a file with our current high school recruits. I would like to have all the coaches demographic data automatically show up when I type in the corresponding high school name in the high school recuiting file. How do I do this?

Thanks!

As for your question, it depends on what you really want to achieve. I dont think we have adequate information. If you create a new file reference to the other file, you can have layout based on a table occurrence to that external table. Then you can just do a find there.

If you are talking about a value list then its a different thing. So let us know more info on how exactly you plan on using it so that we can provide a more accurate solution.

Thanks John.

I have a database of coach information including: coach first name, coach last name, coach cell #, coach email, school address, school city, etc.

I have a separate database with recruit information and their coaches information. What I'd like to do when I add a new record is when I type in the high school name, the coach information automatically is entered.

I hope this helps. I appreciate any guidance.

Thanks!

Well you could just reference the fields from the other file if there is a valid relationship match, or you could use a lookup if you need to store that information in your first table.
