May 13, 201015 yr Newbies Hello, I've searched everywhere on this forum, but have not found a proper step by step guide to setting up the office FileMaker Server 10 Advanced to be remotely accessed from home. I'm a total beginner at this, but would like to be able to log into the office server (which is always running) from home. I've tried DynDNS, opening Port 5003, and many other things, but nothing seems to work. Anybody have easy directions??? Thanks and sorry if this is posted somewhere else.
May 13, 201015 yr Port 5003 must be opened on the office firewall and packets forwarded to the FMS machine. Be sure that Port 5003 isn't being blocked on the home end. Steven
May 13, 201015 yr Assuming the other things were done correctly, you left out one part; port 5003 must forward to the IP of the FileMaker server.
May 13, 201015 yr Author Newbies Just to clarify... I need to port forward on the server machine or the home machine, or both? Like I said, I am very new at this. Also, what is the proper setting for DynDNS. Right now I have it set for Web-based IP Detection. Thanks again!
