Aussie John Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Hi - I am likely to move to a new machine (probably Mac Mini server+thunderbolt array) running Lion. Will I be able to just move over the "Filemaker server folder' or are there other system/prefs files that will be required to be moved. All the data files are currently on a separate drive. cheers
Steven H. Blackwell Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Move nothing related to the FileMaker Server executable itself. Do a fresh install on the new machine. If the old machine is running FileMaker® Server 11, save your schedules for import to the new installation. Steven
Aussie John Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Thanks How can I save all the other console settings or will I need to reconfigure those.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 IIRC, it's only the schedules, including backups and server side scripts, that you can save. Everything else must be reset. Depending on the comparison between he two machines, this may not be 100% duplicative. Steven
